Fast and flexible building site coverage
Sitecover is a new and revolutionary tent system for covering up entire construction sites. The Sitecover tents are designed to withstand all the same conditions as a permanent building according to Eurocode – including conditions such as heavy snow, wind and rain. Not only is this system more complete than traditional construction coverage, it is also much faster to install. The flexible and self-supported system with telescopic steel legs and an umbrella-like roof is installed up to three times faster than the usual solutions. Every part of the Sitecover system is designed to maximize flexibility and stability.
The tent for Novo Nordisk's construction site in Måløv, which was the first ever SiteCover tent, has a total coverage of 1200 squared meters and a span of 43 meters. It is equipped with two cranes, which can lift in total 20 tons, making transporting materials around the site very easy. The terrain of the site is leaning, causing a difference in height between the supporting columns about 5 meters, however with the flexibility of the system, this has not caused any problems.
No more pausing for rain
Sitecover means that the standard 40 "weather days", where construction work is impossible, will be almost completely removed. It also makes it possible to start indoor work before the roof of a building is completed.
KI has worked in a close collaboration with SiteCover during the development of the structural concepts and has participated in numerous other projects related to the potential use of this innovative concept.
