Last week, we celebrated that our partner and technical lead Nuno Martins had his 10th anniversary at KI. It was marked with a small reception in the office with cake, champagne and good stories from the years that have passed.
Nuno is a bit of a globetrotter and has lived and worked in several different countries throughout his life. Therefore, it says something about both the person and the workplace that he has chosen to stay at KI for a whole decade. As Nuno himself explains it, it is about the combination of exciting projects and a working environment where there is room for both professional immersion and new ideas.
When talking about his favorite project over the years, he was in no doubt:
“I think it must be the T-pylon project. It is a project that I have been involved in continuously throughout my years at KI, and which has constantly developed. It has been an exciting engineering challenge – and a good example of the type of projects we want to work with.”
CEO Einar Þór Ingólfsson also spoke about Nuno’s importance to the company:
“You are one of the engineers who has always been ready to take on the difficult tasks. You combine a high level of professionalism with a great curiosity and a willingness to try new methods. Many of the innovative processes and solutions we use today leave your mark. You’re kind of our joker on the team – you can do it all, as long as you get a little artistic freedom.”
Over the years, Nuno has had a great impact on the professional development of KI. He has been a driving force in the work with new tools, methods and solutions – always with the ambition of finding the best solution rather than the easiest.
At KI, we work consciously to create an environment where talented people are given responsibility, freedom and professional challenges – and where you also know that there are always colleagues ready to help and spar. When people stay for many years, we see it as a sign that the culture is working.
Thank you for your efforts over the first 10 years, Nuno. We look forward to the next ones.
