New engineer at the office

Sandra Myrtue News

We were very happy to welcome our new engineer Kristian Bertelsen to the team last Monday. Kristian’s background is a bit different from our other engineers. He completed his Master’s in civil engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 2011 after handing in his thesis “Modelling of segmental tunnel lining considering joints and ring interaction – numerical and analytical approaches”. He has previously worked at COWI Tunnel and Underground structures, and has solid experience working with structural construction and geotechnics.

Kristian’s first couple of weeks have been eventful with lots of new impressions and assignments. Here with us he will change focus a bit and has already started work on a silo project in collaboration with DISA. He is happy to meet the new challenges head on, and says that he finds many similarities between steel structure design and his former field of geotechnics. He is used to working with finite elements, and even though the context is a bit different, all the basics are the same.
