This week we were thrilled to welcome Giuseppe Sciacca to our engineering team. Giuseppe moved to Denmark from Sicily in order to take his Master’s degree in civil engineering at DTU (Technical University of Denmark). What he loved most about studying in Denmark, was the level of independence he could maintain by working as a teacher’s assistant in 5 different Master’s courses, including “Seismic and Wind Engineering”.
Giuseppe wrote his Master’s thesis on the subject “Glass structures subjected to seismic excitations” and happened to get our CEO Einar Ingolfsson as his censor. Einar saw both great talent and great potential in Giuseppe and offered him a position, which Giuseppe was happy to accept. He is excited to start his career in a small company, that offers him the possibility to greatly influence his own assignments and quickly get a high level of responsibility.
Giuseppe’s first assignments will be in our structural engineering department, where he will be working with e.g. oscillation comfort analysis on a new building in the northern part of Copenhagen.
