In collaboration with NTI, KI offers a series of courses in Robot Structural Analysis at several levels during the spring of 2024. The courses are held online by our CEO Einar Ingólfsson.
- Robot Structural Analysis basis
- Robot Structural Analysis Concrete and Steel Design
- Robot Structural Analysis advanced analysis
1. Robot Structural Analysis Basis
Description:
This course provides an introduction to Robot Structural Analysis (RSA). The course is aimed at new users or users who have only limited experience with the program. There will be a focus on user interface, menus, preferences, modelling, handling loads, fundamental analysis and interpretation and documentation of results.
The course is a combination of theoretical review and practical exercises. Course material will be provided on the course to support the teaching and for use after the course has ended.
Objective:
After the course, participants will be able to work independently in Robot Structual Analysis and use it as a 3D modeling tool for structural analysis. Furthermore, participants will be aware of the existence of the more advanced analysis methods offered by Robot Structual Analysis and how Robot Structual Analysis can be used in a BIM solution by communicating to other modeling and analysis tools.
2-day course (online):
March 4th + 11th 9.00-16.00
Instructor:
Einar Ingólfsson
Structural engineer, PhD
Language:
English
Price: DKK 9,500
2. Robot Structural Analysis Concrete and Steel Design
Description:
This course is aimed at people with basic experience in Robot Structural Analysis who want to take advantage of the advanced possibilities for working with reinforced concrete and steel design that the program contains.
Concrete design
We practice basic modeling of reinforced concrete structures. We explore how these can be used to design concrete beams, slabs and shell elements.
Steel design
We look at the more advanced modeling and load handling relevant to steel design. We explore the steel design module and see how it can be used for verification and design of steel members as well as verification of steel joints. We review the parameter sets that are available, including how we can adapt them to local requirements.
The course is a combination of theoretical review and practical exercises. Course material will be provided on the course to support the teaching and for use after the course has ended.
Objective:
After the course, participants will be able to use Robot Structural Analysis for the design, analysis and documentation of structures made of steel or reinforced concrete.
1-day course (online):
March 25th 9.00-16.00
Instructor:
Einar Ingólfsson
Structural engineer, PhD
Language:
English
Price: DKK 4,500
3. Robot Structural Analysis advanced analysis
Description:
This course is aimed at those who wish to further explore the possibilities of advanced analysis with Robot Structural Analysis.
The course covers analysis of material without linearity, loads in motion and cables as well as modal and transient analysis of a structure exposed to dynamic loads. The course will also cover pedestrian-induced vibrations, where we look at response due to harmonic loads of a footbridge.
In the course, we will show an example of how to utilize the Robot API and access the program via an external application. This is done in Excel, but prior knowledge of programming is not necessary.
The course is a combination of theoretical review and practical exercises. Course material will be provided on the course to support the teaching and for use after the course has ended.
Objective:
After the course, participants will be familiar with the many analysis options offered by Robot Structural Analysis.
